Serrano’s 26 Points Sends Women’s Basketball Past Neumann 73-65

Albright picked up an eight-point road victory behind a career night from Gigi Serrano. The Lions have won two of their last three games all coming on the road.

ASTON, Pa. – Women's basketball (2-4) got a career high 26 points from Gigi Serrano to down the Neumann Knights (1-7) 73-65. Albright shot 45% from the field seeing three different Lions end the game in double figures.
 
The Lions found themselves down by one at the end of the first after a back-and-forth quarter. The second quarter was all Albright as the Lions outscored the Knights 22-11 in the second to take a 35-25 lead into the break.
 
Serrano was fantastic this evening, scoring 26 points to go with eight rebounds and two assists playing all 40 minutes. The junior made both of her three-point attempts and was a perfect six for six from the charity stripe. The strong outing raises Serrano's per game scoring average to 12.2 and an impressive 51.9 shooting percentage from the floor. The shooting percentage is good for top five in the Commonwealth.
 
Beginning the second half with a 10-point lead, Albright was able to maintain an eight-point lead entering the final 10 minutes. The fourth quarter featured 42 total points with each team contributing 21 to the total. The Lions held a two-possession advantage for much of fourth quarter to close out the game.
 
Chrisdin Jones notched her second straight double-double while continuing her double-digit scoring streak to start the year. An almost triple-double from Jones saw her end the night with 13 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists and three steals. After tonight's stat line Jones ranks third and second in the conference in per game scoring (17.8) and rebounding (8.5), respectively.
 
Kenedy Cooper was five for eight from the floor for 12 points. Cooper was even better defensively having a season high five steals and a block.
 
CJ Apistar did a little bit of everything tallying nine points, two rebounds, four assists and two steals.
 
Albright forced Neumann into 21 turnovers and dominated in the paint outscoring Neumann 44-24.

Albright will play their fourth straight road game on Saturday, December 6 against Gwynedd Mercy. Thw game is set for a 1:00 p.m. afternoon start between the Lions and Griffins.
