READING, Pa. – Women's Basketball (3-4) played on the road for the fourth time in as many games against Gwynedd Mercy (2-6) on Saturday afternoon. After a physical 40 minutes of play, which included Albright forcing 16 turnovers, the Lions would win their second straight game by a score of 62-59.
This victory marks the third for Albright in their last four games. The Lions are in the middle of their longest road trip of the season playing their fourth straight road game today with three more road games remaining before Albright plays on their home floor.
Kenedy Cooper shined and led all Lions with a career best 18 points including a pair of three pointers. Cooper's impact was also apparent on defense as the Junior would end up recording a team high in both steals (3) and blocks (2).
Joining Cooper in double digits was
Julia Parmelee who converted four of her eight shot attempts for 12 points in 20 valuable minutes off the bench.
The Lions converted nine second chance points due largely to rebounding efforts from
Orianna Edmond who tied Parmelee with a team high three offensive rebounds while tying for a game high seven total rebounds.
CJ Apistar tied for second in rebounds with five while dishing out a team best four assists in a full 40 minutes of play.
After a tie through the first 20 minutes of play (36-36), the Lions' offense would go on to outscore the Griffins in both the third and fourth quarter for a solid road victory.
