SALEM, Va. – Women's basketball (3-6) played their sixth straight road game on Monday night beginning play at the Roanoke Tournament against #20 Denison (11-0). The nationally ranked Big Red topped the Lions 72-48.
The past six games have all been on the road for the Lions last playing at home on November 14. During the road trip the Lions have a 3-3 record with wins over Mitchell, Neumann and Gwynedd Mercy.
The first half saw Denison jump out to a 12-point lead after 20 minutes. Denison would go on to win their 11
th game in a row to begin the season using a big third quarter to their advantage.
Chrisdin Jones recorded her seventh game this season in double figures and her third double-double having 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Julia Zakovitch ended with 11 points with a three on 50% shooting from the field.
Orianna Edmond finished with six points and nine rebounds.
Recording multiple steals for the Lions was
CJ Apistar and
Kenedy Cooper who had three while
Gigi Serrano and
Camille McCaskell each had two.
