SALEM, Va. – Women's basketball (4-6) put together a dominating 40 minutes of play downing Geneva College (3-7) 79-54 on Tuesday evening at the Roanoke Tournament. The win for the Lions is their biggest margin of victory of the season.
Albright won wire to wire over Geneva, never trailing across the 40 minutes of game action. The halftime lead grew to 50-26 for the Lions. The point total marks their highest scoring output of any half this season.
The strong play continued in the second half as the Lions had a commanding lead heading into the final frame leading 67-35. Between dynamic offensive play and strong defense, the Lions picked up their fourth road win in their last seven games.
Chrisdin Jones led the way for the Lions once again offensively, scoring 24 points. Jones has reached at least 20 points in four of the 10 games this season. The 24 points came on 8-10 shooting from the field while making all seven of her free throw attempts.
Kenedy Cooper ended as the second Lion in double figures, scoring 14 points marking her fifth game in double figures this season.
As a team the Lions shot 44% from the field while holding Geneva to just 25.4% from the field. 10 different Lions scored at least two points in today's contest.
Gigi Serrano scored eight points and hauled in five rebounds while
Orianna Edmond registered eight points and nine rebounds.
Julia Zakovitch fared well overall, having eight points and seven rebounds.
The Lions were able to find success in the paint outscoring their opponent 48-16. Points off turnovers also went Albright's way as the double up Geneva in the category 26-13.

The Lions will return home for the first time since mid-November on Friday, January 2. Albright will host United States Coast Guard Academy at 1:00 p.m. in the Bollman Center.
