ANNVILLE, Pa. – Men's basketball (2-5) went on the road to Lebanon Valley (2-4) in the first of their two games this week. The Lions earned their largest margin of victory this season, downing the Dutchmen 82-67.
Albright featured balanced scoring throughout the game finishing with a team shooting percentage of 53.7 from the field. The Lions made 14 total threes shotting nearly 50% from three-point range.
After 20 minutes of game action Albright carried a 39-31 lead into the break. The game was tied at 28 with four minutes left in the first half. An 11-3 run from Albright closed out the half carrying momentum in the game's final 20 minutes.
Joey Callahan led all scorers with 18 points to match a season high. The junior had it going from downtown making four threes on six attempts.
Akhir Keys matched Callahan with four three's made finishing with a season high 14 points. Keys has made at least two threes in five of the season games this season.
Lebanon Valley brought the game within seven with 10 minutes remaining. Albright's defense tightened up only allowing 14 Dutchmen points over the game's final 10 minutes. Balanced scoring and strong defense helped Albright to their eighth straight win over Lebanon Valley.
Phanique Dupree filled up the box score once again while being efficient from the floor. Seven of nine total shots fell for Dupree giving him 16 points on the night. Nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block were all credited to the Lions do it all forward.
Qadir Mitchell continued his streak of finishing the game in double figures to start the season. All seven games played this season have seen Mitchell finish in double figures. The senior guard made two threes on his way to 10 points.
Albright outrebounded Lebanon Valley 39-32.
Chase McWhite hauled in 10 rebounds for a season high adding three assists.
Jeremiah Stanton dished out seven assists to go with nine points and two rebounds. Stanton leads the conference with 5.6 assists per game and is the only player to be averaging five or more.
