Women’s Basketball Soars Over Eastern

The Lions matched their season high with 89 points in what turned out to be their largest margin of victory this season.

READING, Pa. – The Albright Women's Basketball team (13-10, 7-6 MAC Commonwealth) played their final home game of the regular season against Eastern (2-22, 1-12 MAC Commonwealth). Four Lions would end the night with double digit points in what turned out to be a 40-point victory for Albright.
 
Mackenzie Dover flirted with tying her career high and led all scorers with 26 points which included her draining five three-pointers and finishing second on the team with five assists. 
 
Finishing behind Dover with 14 points of her own was Orianna Edmond who recorded her sixth double-double of the season with a team high 10 rebounds and recorded one block and steal. 
 
Ball movement was a big part of the Lions offense as the team finished with 26 total assists including a team high six from CJ Apistar who also connected on six shots for 13 points. 
 
The Lions entered halftime comfortably by a score of 45-30 after outscoring Eastern in each of the first two periods. 
 
Gigi Serrano helped the Lions stay hot on offense by scoring 12 points in 17 minutes off the bench and missed only one of her seven shot attempts. The Lions' bench would outscore Eastern's 30-2.  
 
The Lions outscored the Eagles in both the third and fourth quarter as well which included a 20-5 run to close out the game by a score of 89-49. 
 
Up Next: 
 
The Lions will play their final regular season game on the road against Widener on Saturday (2/22) at 1:00 pm. The Lions would officially be playoff bound with a win.
