READING, Pa. – The Albright Men's Basketball team (13-7, 8-2 MAC Commonwealth) picked up conference win number eight against Messiah (3-18, 2-8 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon. The Lions controlled all facets of the game from the opening tip to win by a score of 81-60. The 21-point margin of victory is the second biggest for the Lions this season.
Eric Chamberlain led all scorers with 18 points and converted on seven of his nine shot attempts in addition to recording three steals. Chamberlain went on a 6-0 run by himself to help the Lions close out the first half.
Phanique Dupree continues to dominate the glass and hauled in 10 rebounds and picked up three more blocks to add to his already historic season.
Chris Kouemi tied his career high in rebounds for the second time this season with 17 which was enough to lead all players. The senior has been a rebounding force all season and picked up his third double-double of the season with 10 points.
The Lions entered halftime firing on all cylinders and led 38-26 and surrendered only a 36% shooting performance from the Falcons in the first half.
Jeremiah Stanton set up his teammates all night with a team high five assists and cashed in on five shots of his own for 11 points.
Qadir Mitchell continues to have a great season as the team's sixth man and accounted for 17 of the team's 30 bench points in 25 minutes which included four three pointers.
The Bollman Center was filled with cheers through to the final whistle as the Lions continue to make a push for postseason play.
