READING, Pa. – The Albright Women's Basketball team (11-9, 5-5 MAC Commonwealth) played the second of two straight at home against the Messiah Falcons (19-2, 10-0 MAC Commonwealth). After a competitive first half, the visiting Falcons would catch fire in the fourth quarter to win 68-43.
Chrisdin Jones led the way for the Lions in her second start with a team high 13 points while also picking up six rebounds.
Tying Jones for the team lead in rebounds was
Shakyla Mayo who snagged six of her own which included three on the offensive end and created additional scoring chances for her teammates. Mayo also recorded five points off the bench in 16 minutes.
The Lions entered halftime trailing by a score of 33-14 where they were able to contain the dangerous messiah offense for majority of the first half.
Kenedy Cooper set up her teammates well throughout the game and dished out a team high three assists.
Unfortunately for the Lions, the Falcons offense would finally breakthrough in the fourth quarter with 21 points and a number of shots from beyond the arch to allow them to leave with a comfortable road win over the Lions.
