Women’s Lacrosse Wins Wire to Wire Over Delaware Valley 14-12

The Women’s lacrosse team never trailed in today’s game picking up their second win of year downing Delaware Valley 14-12 on Saturday afternoon.

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa.  – Women's Lacrosse (2-2) never trailed in today's game leading the Delaware Valley Aggies (1-2) for all 60 minutes. Albright scored 14 goals on their way to a 14-12 victory.

Kayte Moist was the best player on the field this afternoon, setting her career high in goals in the first half. Moist scored eight times in the first half on just 11 shots. Moist finished just two goals shy of tying the Albright program record for goals in a game.

Moist came back to the team for her graduate season and is closing in on 100 career goals. With eight goals today Moist's career goal total sits at 92.

Albright was dominant in the first half heading into halftime with a 10-4 lead. Delaware Valley made a comeback in the second half, cutting the deficit to 12-10 in the early stages of the fourth quarter.

In the end, the Lions offense added two more insurance goals, and the defense took care of the rest to secure the road victory and get back to .500 on the season.

Bridgette Asher and Zoe Dicks each scored twice to pace the Lions offense after Moist. Dicks added two assists for her second four-point game of the season.

Caelainn Morrison was fantastic in goal making 16 saves to maintain the Lions lead throughout. Morrison's 16 saves are the second most of the season for Morrison and the third time the netminder has made 10 or more saves in a game this season.

Courtney Futrick caused two turnovers and collected two ground balls leading the defensive unit. The two caused turnovers are the first two of the season for the sophomore.

 Riley Basht and Kendall Smith both scored once today rounding the Lions offense.
