READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (8-7, 0-4 MAC Commonwealth) hosted a conference matchup with the Messiah Falcons (9-7, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth). Following nine innings of play, each team recorded five hits with the visiting Falcons leaving with a 5-2 win.
Jack Gilmer drove in the first run of the game by driving in
Michael Avino via a sacrifice fly. Avino led off the game with his first career triple and is batting .345 on the season.
Also picking up and RBI was
Chris Gorla who singled up the middle to bring home Avino for the team's second run of the game.
Deklyn Marks continues to stay red hot for the Lions and picked up a team high two hits on the day.
The Lions bullpen combined for four scoreless innings which included
J.D. Graziano facing the minimum number of batters and striking out three in three innings.
The Lions ended up threatening in the final inning and brought the tying run to the plate, before ultimately falling short in the opening game of the season series.
