Kayte Moist Sets Program Record in Overtime Loss to Kalamazoo

Moist scored 11 of the teams 19 goals to set the new program record for goals in a game. Kalamazoo won in overtime 20-19.

READING, Pa.  – Kayte Moist broke a 13-year-old program record this afternoon by scoring a career-high 11 goals in the today's contest. Despite the record-breaking performance from Moist, Albright (3-5) fell in overtime to Kalamazoo (1-7) 20-19 in a high scoring affair.

Not only did Moist set the new program record for goals in a game, but the graduate student also tied the program record for points in a game with 12. Moist's record setting goal came with 12 seconds left in game to send the contest to overtime.

Moist's career day ended, scoring 11 goals and assisting on another for a career-high 12 points.

Today's game featured 39 total goals marking the highest scoring games of the season. At halftime, Albright was clinging to an 11-9 lead on their home turf.

Each team scored four goals in the third period with the Lions leading 15-13 entering the fourth period. The Hornets of Kalamazoo scored six goals to the Lions four over the final 15 minutes of regulation. Kalamazoo would escape with the win in overtime scoring in less than 30 seconds.

Kendall Smith scored three goals for her second hattrick of the season. Smith is up to 11 goals this season in her first season as an Albright Lion.

Sarah Chernis tied the program record for assists in a game this season with six. It is the third time this season Chernis has had six assists in a game. The senior Lion added two goals to finish with eight total points.

Bridgette Asher, Olivia Ball and Zoe Dicks all scored one goal each rounding out the day for the Lions offensively.

Moist and Dicks both caused three turnovers while Dicks picked up a game high five groundballs.
