READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (9-10) returned to their home field with a match against Penn St. Berks (4-16). In nine innings of play, the Lions would ultimately plate 12 runs on 16 hits in a dominant victory.
Conner Lane started on the mound for the Lions and shined throughout his seven innings of work and picked up the first win of his collegiate career. Lane struck out six batters and only surrendered one run.
Plyler Hunter went three for three at the plate with a pair of RBIs, runs scored and picked up a walk.
Tying Hunter with three hits of their own were
Roman Berretta and
Christian Eckstein who also both came around to score twice.
The Lions jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks to early hits from
Chris Gorla and
Michael Avino before putting up four runs in the bottom fourth for their best inning of the day. Both
Nick Barton and Avino helped drive in runs in the fourth.
Five different Lions ended the day with multiple hits Including Nick Golden who hit a triple down the right field line to score Berretta.
Austin Ozarowski and
Hayden McDonald combined for two scoreless innings in relief as the Lions ended the day with a dominant 12-1 victory.
