Men’s Lacrosse Suffers Close Loss at Home to Immaculata

The Albright men’s lacrosse team returned to action on Wednesday evening hosting Immaculata. The Mighty Macs won tonight’s contest 12-11.

READING, Pa. – Men's lacrosse (1-8) returned to action on Wednesday night playing in their first game since March 12 hosting the Immaculata (7-5) Mighty Macs. Immaculata won the game by a final score of 12-11.

Today's game was evenly matched on both sides as the game came down to the last minutes of action. At halftime, the Lions and the Mighty Macs were locked up at five apiece.

The Lions were firing coming out of halftime, scoring five goals to the Mighty Macs two in the frame. Heading into the fourth period, Albright held a 10-7 advantage.

Immaculata would go on to score five goals in the fourth to steal a win from the Lions with the game winning goal coming with just 1:29 left on the clock.

Jack Burke played one of his better games of the season tallying a team high six points. Burke scored once and assisted on five goals.

Justin Moroney scored a team high four goals and added an assist on another for five total points in the game.

Ryan Houghtaling scored a career high four goals. The four goals pushed Houghtaling's season goal total to 14.

Sean McNicholas was solid in net making multiple big saves throughout the game. McNicholas made 14 saves total marking the fourth straight time McNicholas has recorded double digit saves.

Brandon Jones and Hunter Fitterling were each credited with two caused turnovers this afternoon.

The Lions will play in the final non-conference match of the season on Saturday afternoon on the road at Misericordia. The game will start at 1:00 p.m. from Dallas, Pa.
