CARLISLE, Pa. – The Albright softball season officially got underway on Tuesday afternoon at Dickinson. Dickinson took both games of the double header to move to 4-0 on the season while the Lions fall to 0-2.
Game 1:
For the first game of the year, the Lions bats were in mid season form. Albright mustered out 10 total hits in game one. Of the 10 hits, eight different Lions recorded at least one hit.
Earning their first hits for the Lions in game one was
Ryleigh Prinz,
Katie Behler,
Isabella Cummings and
Gabriella Weiss. All five Lions reached base on a single with Weiss also tallying her first collegiate RBI in the process.
Grace Landante went 2-4 at the plate while also coming around to score both of the Lions runs from the leadoff spot. The two-hit game is the first of the career for the sophomore Lion who started at third base this afternoon.
Aliza Langlois matched Landante with two hits while also drawing a walk. Langlois recorded her RBI on a single back up the middle.
Game 2:
The Lions were tied with Dickinson heading into the sixth inning. In the sixth, the Red Devils were able to finally solve
Gabriella Weiss and pull away from Albright.
Weiss did not allow a hit until the fourth inning in her first career collegiate start. The first year Lion fared well overall striking out three along the way.
Landante added two more hits in game two. The current sophomore had four hits total last season and now has four hits in two games to start the year. Landante would come around to score in the fourth inning on a
Slaydon Fisher RBI single.
Fisher went 2-3 at the plate earning the start at shortstop in the twin bill of the double header.
Madison Lasko hit her first extra base hit of the year in game two doubling down the right field line. Lasko hit safely in both games of today's double header.

Albright will head to York College for the first MAC Commonwealth games of the year. The double header is set for Saturday, March 15 at 1/3 p.m.
