Jack Burke Moves Into Third All-Time in Points; Men’s Lacrosse Drops Commonwealth Clash to Messiah

The Lions went on the road on Saturday afternoon playing in their second straight road game. Messiah protected home field winning the game 12-7 over Albright.

GRANTHAM, Pa. – Men's lacrosse (1-12, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road for the second straight game visiting Messiah (5-8, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons of Messiah took today's conference matchup 12-7 over Albright.

Today's game was relatively low scoring as both offenses struggled to find the back of the net despite combining for 88 total shots.

Sean McNicholas made 13 saves today as the netminder is closing in on 400 career saves at Albright. McNicholas has 177 saves to date this season for the Lions.

Messiah led 6-1 at halftime without allowing a goal in the second period to Albright. In the second half the teams both scored six goals however the first half deficit was too much to overcome for the Lions.

Justin Moroney led the Lions offense today, scoring three goals. For Moroney it marked his sixth game this season scoring three or more goals in a game. Moroney will need three goals over the final four games of the season to set a new career high for goals in a season.

Jack Burke scored twice while Nick Antonio added two goals of his own. Burke collected eight ground balls while Antonio fired a team high 12 shots.

With the two points this afternoon, Burke climbs into third all time in points in school history. Burke's career point total sits at 208 trailing only Cam Cetrone and Phil Potter in school history. 

Ryan Conover and Brandon Jones were each credited with two caused turnovers this afternoon.
