READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (13-15) stayed at home to open their season series with the Widener Pride (15-16). Following a pair of games, the visiting pride would sweep the Lions at home by scores of 5-2 and 6-2.

Game 1:

The Pride struck first and opened up a 1-0 lead over the Lions in the first inning. Nick Barton however, would punch right back in the second inning with a solo homerun to left field.

Joining Barton in the RBI category for this game was Michael Avino who drove in Nathan Golden via a double to deep right field to give the Lions a 2-1 lead after three innings.

Dominic Yeager opened game one for the Lions and allowed only one earned run through 4.1 innings of work and held his opponents to only four hits.

After tying the game in the fifth, the Widener bats would come to life with three runs in the seventh to take game one by a score of 5-2.

Game 2:

Game two featured four different Lions recording multiple hits throughout the game. Jack Gilmer, Michael Avino and Christian Eckstein each finished the game with two apiece.
