Chernis and Morrison Achieve Individual Career Milestones; Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Hood

The Lions women’s lacrosse team played their fifth MAC Commonwealth game of the season on Wednesday evening. The Lions fell to the host Blazers 16-10.

FREDERICK, Pa. – Women's lacrosse (5-10, 1-4 MAC Commonwealth) went on the road on Wednesday afternoon playing against the host Hood College (5-9, 1-3 MAC Commonwealth) Blazers. The Blazers won 16-10 on their home turf. Caelainn Morrison and Sarah Chernis both achieved career individual milestones in tonight's game.

Caelainn Morrison needed just one save coming into tonight's game to achieve 500 career saves. Morrsion collected her 500th career save in the first period. With two games remaining on the schedule, Morrsion will need 26 saves to become the program's all-time saves leader. The current all-time saves leader for Albright women's lacrosse is Terae Mason who amassed 533 career saves during her tenure.

Sarah Chernis needed just two points coming into tonight's game to become the 11th player in school history to achieve 100 career points. Chernis's 100th career point game in the second period of tonight's game. Additionally, Chernis has tied the single season assist record, recording her 41st assist of the season tonight. Chernis ended tonight's game with three assists.

Kayte Moist tallied a game high seven points recording five goals and two assists in tonight's game. Moist is now up to 54 goals this season. With two games remaining in the regular season, Moist will need seven goals to tie the program record and eight to surpass the program record for goals in a season.

Riley Basht scored three goals tonight and was followed by Riley Basht and Kendall Smith who each scored once. Dicks led with five draw controls and was followed by Olivia Ball who collected three draw controls.
 
Up Next:
The Lions will be off this weekend and return to action on Wednesday, April 23 at home against Stevenson. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m.
