READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (15-17) traveled to play Alvernia (21-12). After nine innings of play, the Golden Wolves would take the series opener by a score of 11-1.
After neither team drove in a run in the first inning, the Golden Wolves would get things started and come alive in the bottom of the second with six runs.
Nick Barton would answer back in the following frame with an RBI single to score
Christian Eckstein and get the Lions on the board. Barton finished the day with a team high three hits.
Chris Valerio stepped up in relief and pitched four shutout innings and only allowing three hits in the process to keep the Lions within reach.
Alvernia would eventually breakthrough again in the bottom of the eighth inning with five more runs to wrap up game one by a score of 11-1.
