UPPERCO, Md. – Fatima Rizvi has won her second straight tournament by way of winning the Stevenson Invitational on Monday afternoon at Piney Branch Golf Club. Rizvi and the Lions battled the tough windy conditions all afternoon long placing fifth overall as a team.

RESULTS

Eight total teams and 39 individuals teed it up on Monday competing in the Stevenson Invitational. Gettysburg won the tournament with a team score of 364 and was followed by Stevenson tying for second with Hood (368), Susquehanna in fourth (372) and Albright in fifth with a score of 373. The 2-5 teams in the field were close throughout only being separated by five total strokes at the conclusion of the tournament.

Today's conditions were not ideal for golf as greens were playing very fast on top of the persistent winds. Today's round was played at Piney Branch Golf Club playing 5604 yards and par of 70.

Rizvi has been fantastic this season and today was no different. Rizvi has yet to finish outside the top 10 in any tournament she has appeared in dating back to the fall season. With today's solo victory, Rizvi has won three tournaments overall this year including back-to-back individual victories. On Wednesday of last week, Rizvi won the Albright Spring Invitational playing 27 holes.

Today, Rizvi shot an 82 to win the tournament by three strokes over the field. Rizvi was just one of nine golfers in the field that were able to shoot a round in the 80's further highlighting the tough conditions the golfers faced this afternoon.

Ilaria Catania finished solo 10^th adding to her impressive resume during her sophomore season. Catania shot a 90 this afternoon, which was the fourth best round of any golfer from MAC Commonwealth member institutions.

Braidan Wastler and Callie Cooper rounded out the Lions in action this afternoon. Wastler shot 100 while Cooper came in at 101.
The quartet of Lions are trending in the right direction heading into the 2025 MAC Championships. The Championships are being held at Golden Oaks Golf Club, a course familiar to the Lions.

Albright will begin to prepare for the upcoming MAC women's Golf Championships this weekend. The Lions will play a practice round on Friday, April 25 before playing rounds one and two on Saturday (April 26) and Sunday (April 27).
