Sean McNicholas Sets Single Season Saves Record; Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Nationally Ranked Stevenson

Sean McNicholas made seven saves tonight to set the new program record for saves in a season. The Lions paid a visit to nationally ranked Stevenson on Wednesday night falling to the Mustangs 28-6.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Men's lacrosse (1-15, 0-6 MAC Commonwealth) visited #12/#13 Stevenson (12-4, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) on Wednesday afternoon in the second to last MAC Commonwealth contest of the season. The Mustangs protected their home field with a 28-6 victory over the Lions.

Sean McNicholas came into tonight with 203 saves on the season needing just three saves to set the new single season saves record. McNicholas recorded seven saves tonight to blow by the previous record of 205 saves in a season by Ethan Hendershot. After the conclusion of tonight's game, McNicholas is sitting at 210 saves this season and can add to his record breaking 2025 in the team's final game against Alvernia.

Two Lions scored two goals this evening to pace the Lions offense. Justin Moroney and Ryan Houghtaling each scored twice for two points in the game. Moroney added three ground balls to his overall stat line.

Jack Burke and Nick Antonio each scored once tonight for the Lions.

Defensively, Hunter Fitterling caused three more turnovers tonight to give him 37 total caused turnovers this season. Fitterling leads the Commonwealth in caused turnovers and has recorded three or more caused turnovers in eight games this season.

Tallying an assist this evening was James Elko who had a pair of assists Burke and Luke Williams each had one assist. Williams also tallied a career-high seven ground balls to give him 107 career ground balls.
