Frederick, MD – Albright Baseball (17-19) traveled to open their final MAC Commonwealth series of the regular season against Hood (11-25). Following nine innings of play, the Blazers would rally late to steal one from the Lions by a score of 7-5.
Colby Yaich opened the game for the Lions and allowed only two runs in four innings of work while limiting the Hood offense to only two hits.
The Lions jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first after RBIs from
Nick Barton and
Chris Gorla who went o to combine for all five of the team's RBIs.
Also contributing on offense for the Lions were
Christian Eckstein,
Roman Berretta and
Aidan Sturtevant who each found themselves on base multiple times throughout the game.
After the Blazers answered in the second, the Lions would put two more runs on the board courtesy of a sacrifice fly from Barton and a base hit from Gorla.
With the Lions leading 5-2 after the top of the fifth, the Blazers offense would break through with five answered runs to take a 7-5 lead which was ultimately enough for them to secure the win.
