READING, Pa. – Albright Softball (3-17) returned home for to host their first games in the month of April against Stevenson (17-5). Following a pair of games, the visiting Mustangs would go on to sweep the Lions by scores of 4-3 and 2-10.
Between games the team took the time to recognize seniors
Aliza Langlois and
Jadelyn Van Winkle for their contributions to their program.
Game 1:
Jadelyn Van Winkle started game one and pitched a full seven innings while only surrendering three hits.
Stevenson started hot out of the gate which left the Lions in a 3-0 hole after top of the first inning.
Slaydon Fisher got things started with the offense after evading a pickoff attempt which ultimately led to her stealing home the same play. Fisher would end the day with three hits and a pair of RBIs in the seventh inning.
Tying Fisher with three hits in game one was
Juliette Licata and recorded her fifth multi hit game of the season.
The Lions would fight back and have the tying and winning runs in scoring position in the seventh inning before falling just short in game one by a score of 4-3.
Game 2:
Game two featured
Gabriella Weiss on the mound as the first-year pitcher continues to pile on innings for the season with another 5.2 today.
After falling behind in the first inning, the Lions would rally to take a 2-1 in the fourth inning after RBIs from
Jadelyn Van Winkle and
Monica Hernandez.
Stevenson's offense would then wake up in the sixth inning with seven runs leading to a 10-2 win for a road sweep over the Lions.
