READING, Pa. – Women's lacrosse (5-8, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) began their second week of MAC Commonwealth play on Wednesday afternoon hosting Widener (6-7, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) under the lights at Shirk Stadium. The game went the way of The Pride leaving Reading with a 14-5 win.
Widener scored nine goals in the opening 30 minutes to take a comfortable lead into halftime. The second half saw the Lions score five goals looking to spark a comeback. In the end, the Pride's halftime lead was too much to overcome.
Kayte Moist added two goals this afternoon marking her 48
th and 49
th goals of the season. With one more goal over the final four regular season games, Moist will eclipse the 50-goal mark in a season.
Sarah Chernis dished out two more assists this evening marking the 34
th and 35
th assists of the season. Chernis has her sights set on the single season assist record of 41. The current record holder for the most assists in a season belongs to current Widener head coach and Albright alumnus Sophie Bass.
Caelainn Morrison recorded 10 more saves today. Morrsion now has seven games this season recording 10 or more saves in a game. The senior goalie is sitting at 477 career saves, looking to become the next Lion netminder to record 500 career saves.

Lucy Moreland and
Kendall Smith all scored one goal for the Lions. Basht added an assist while Smith added two draw controls.
Courtney Futrick and
Zoe Dicks were each credited with two caused turnovers.
