READING, Pa. – Women's tennis (1-0) officially began their 2025 fall season on Wednesday afternoon hosting Penn State Berks (0-1) in non-conference action. Albright won handily today beating the Nittany Lions 7-0.
Albright is the two-time defending Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth champions. With today's win the Lions regular season win streak, which dates to spring of 2024, is now at 18 straight matches.
In addition to the overall regular season win streak, Albright has won 21 straight home matches with their last home loss coming in the spring of 2023.
The duo of
Elicia Aponte and
Michelle Timothy returned to the court in style this afternoon taking the number one doubles match 6-0.
Kaelyn Davis and
Daniela Diez paired up in number two doubles and won 6-0. Penn State Berks forfeited the third and final doubles match.
Timothy was solid all afternoon winning her number one singles match in a clean sweep 6-0, 6-0.
Aponte followed suit and won her number two doubles match 6-0, 6-2.
Nadia Margaritov won in number three singles 6-0, 6-0 for her first win as a Lion.
Alaina Simth rounded out the action in number four singles with a straight sets win, winning 6-1, 6-2.
