GLENSIDE, Pa. – Field hockey (0-2) went on the road for their second straight game to start the year against Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom member institution Arcadia (1-1). The Knights protected home field with an 2-1 win over the Lions.
The Lions opened the scoring this afternoon on
Bobbie Van Oordt's first career goal as an Albright Lion. The goal came just a minute into the second half and was unassisted.
Van Oordt finished second on the team in shots this afternoon with four in the game placing three of them on net.
The games scoring all took place in the third period. After Albright's opening goal, the Knights scored twice themselves to take a 2-1 lead in the third. The 2-1 lead would hold for Arcadia until the game's final whistle.
Albright had their chances to score in the fourth period but were unable to solve the Acradia backline for a second time. In the fourth period alone, the Lions outshot the Knights 5-0.
Keliah Santiago led the team in shots on the afternoon with five of the teams 13 total shots.
Rayven Muller and
McKena Cox both were credited with two shots on the afternoon.
Anna Schuemann made her Albright debut this afternoon after coming on as a defensive sub.

Field hockey will return home for their home opener on Saturday, September 6 against MAC Freedom foe Stevens. The game will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Shirk Stadium.
