READING, Pa. – Women's tennis (2-1) got back in the win column after a 7-0 win over visiting Arcadia (0-2) in front of an effervescent crowd at the Albright tennis courts. The Lions have 18 of their last 19 regular season matches and two straight over the Knights.
The Lions were in complete control of the match handling the Knights with ease. Albright won all six singles matches in straight sets.
Michelle Timothy won 6-1, 6-2 to improve to 2-1 on the year in #1 singles play.
Elicia Aponte matched Timohty in improving to 2-1 on the year with a 6-4, 6-0 victory in #2 singles.
Allison Horick, who has still yet to drop a collegiate match, ran her career record to 19-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win in #3 singles.
Nadia Margaritov was named MAC Commonwealth women's tennis Player of the Week last week for her strong play in the Ursinus tournament. Today, Margaritov did not drop a single game winning 6-0, 6-0 in #4 singles.
The #5 and #6 singles matches were shortened due to darkness. Albright took both matches as
Alaina Smith won 8-2 in #5 singles and
Saba Soroush won in #6 singles.
All three doubles matches went the way of the Lions outscoring Arcadia 18-2 in the three matches. Timothy and Horick won 6-1 in #1 doubles, Aponte and Smith swept #2 doubles 6-0 and
Daniela Diez and
Kaelyn Davis won 6-1 in #3 doubles.

Albright will play two matches this Saturday (Oct. 4) against Gettysburg and McDaniel. Albright will start the day at Gettysburg at 11:00 a.m. before making the trip to Maryland to face McDaniel at 3:30 p.m.
