NEWTOWN, Pa. – Men's and women's tennis are scheduled to open their season in just over a months' time. Prior to the start of the season, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) released their annual Preseason Coaches' Poll. Both men's and women's programs were picked first in the poll.
The Lions received four of the six first-place votes in both the men's and women's Preseason poll. On the men's side Albright is followed by Messiah in second and York and Stevenson tying for third. Rounding out the poll is Eastern and Alvernia finishing fifth and sixth, respectively.
On the women's side Messiah finished behind Albright in second while York and Stevenson tied for third. Eastern and Alvernia conclude the results being placed in fifth and sixth, respectively.
The men's team went 4-1 in the fall portion of the season including winning their last three matches. The 2026 spring season will get underway on Saturday, February 28 against Penn State Abington. The match will be at home and is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
The women's program enters the season as the two-time defending MAC Commonwealth champions. Albright went 2-3 in the fall season with two 7-0 wins over Penn State Berks and Arcadia. Like the men's side, the women's team will open their season at home against Penn State Abington on Saturday, February 28 at 12:00 p.m.
