Straff Reaches Milestone against Penn State Berks

The Lions continued a two-week road trip against the Spartans.

READING, Pa. – Volleyball (5-14) concluded a lengthy road trip against Penn State Berks (10-12) as the Lions push towards the end of the regular season. Berks would go on to win the match in three sets. 
 
Leading the way for the Lions was once again Neve Straff who registered seven kills in addition to a solo block for eight points to surpass 1,000 (1,002) for her career and is on pace to finish all four of her collegiate seasons with 200 or more points. 
 
Alexis Akwara was all over the net for the Lions with a pair of solo blocks and an assisted block to add another 7.5 points to her first collegiate season. Tying with Akwara with five kills were Amiya Patterson and Jayla Malone. 
 
Lily Donovan, Sydney Mayfield, Valouria James, Isabell Garay each recorded service aces and were present on both ends of the court with digs and assists. 
 
One of the best runs for the Lions came in the third set in the form of a 6-1 run before Berks came to life one final time to close out their 10th win of the season on their homne court.

The Lions will be returning home to play Stevenson on Thursday (10/29) at 7:00 pm for their final home game of the regular season. The game will serve as a breast cancer awareness game.
