ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Women's lacrosse (1-1) went on the road for the second straight game to start the season squaring off against Elizabethtown (1-0). The Bluejays ultimately found the game winning goal in double overtime to win 18-17.
Albright played in their first double overtime game since 2022 season against Hood.
The game was back and forth throughout as neither team would lead by more than three goals at any point of the game.
Elizabethtown would jump out to leads of 3-0 then 6-3. However, Albright responded both times, tying the game at 3-3, then again at 6-6. Five of Albright first six goals were scored by different players.
The first half featured 14 goals combined with each team accounting for seven apiece.
Albright built up their lead to 12-9 nearing the end of the third period but two goals from Elizabethtown before the period was over made the game 12-11 heading into the final frame.
The Lions were clinging to a one-goal lead with a minute remaining. The Blue Jays Drew Bridges scored with a minute to go to force overtime.
After neither team found the back of the net in the first overtime period, Bridges would strike again in the second overtime to give the Blue Jays the win.
Riley Basht led the way, scoring five goals while adding two ground balls. Basht has scored 12 goals total in the first two games of the season.
Paige Lipp accounted for five total points, scoring four goals and dishing out an assist.
Zoe Dicks added three goals to go with seven draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Madison Wood scored twice and was followed by
Anna Bien,
Olivia Ball and
Jocelyn McLaughlin who each scored once. In addition to the scoring Bien tallied four caused turnovers and five draw controls.

Albright will host Saint Joseph's (CT) on Saturday, February 28 at 12:00 p.m. The game will serve as the teams 2026 home opener.
