READING, Pa. – Women's Lacrosse (2-1) hosted Saint Joseph (Ct.) (0-2) at Shirk Stadium after a pair of road games to start the season. Through 60 minutes of play, five different Lions would find the back of the net in a convincing 14-9 victory.
Zoe Dicks controlled the game from the opening draw and finished with a career best eight points by way of three goals and five assists in addition to nine draw controls. Dicks' first draw control was a big one allowing the senior to surpass 100 for her career.
Riley Basht started the scoring early for the Lions and would go on to lead the team with four goals. The Junior already sits eight points shy of tying her season total from last year.
The Lions entered halftime with a comfortable 8-3 after dominating the first two quarters both offensively and defensively. As a team the Lions would finish with 27 shots on goal compared to the Blue Jays' 17.
Paige Lipp scored the first two second half goals for the Lions and was one of three players to finish with three or more goals.
Also joining in on the scoring were
Olivia Ball and
Madison Wood who each finished with a pair of goals and an assist to combine for six points.
Kaila Clark,
Anna Bien and
Katelyn Kelly all made an impact on defense recording four caused turnovers making any offense difficult for Saint Joseph.
Kylee McCauley-Kriegsman started in goal and made eight saves in what was her second win of the early season.
