READING, Pa. – Women's Lacrosse (4-2) continued their extended stay at Shirk Stadium with a match against Gwynedd Mercy (0-6). The Lions scored the first six goals and never looked back in what turned out to be a 21-5 victory.
Madison Wood opened the scoring with the first of her four goals off an assist from
Paige Lipp a little over two minutes into the first quarter. Wood scored her four goals on five shots while Lipp finished with a game best seven points including four goals of her own.
Also contributing in the early frame was
Riley Basht who scored and led all players with six goals to bring her total to an impressive 26 on the season. The junior has accounted for two or more goals in every game this season.
The Lions carried their momentum into the second quarter which allowed them to enter the locker room with a 10-3 lead.
Zoe Dicks once again dominated both ends of the field with six points including a team leading four assists along with eight draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Also finishing with multiple points were
Anna Bien,
Michaela DeMeo and
Olivia Ball. Each Lion to record points ended with two or more in what was an outstanding all-around team effort.
Ultimately the Lions followed a 10 goal first half with 11 more scores in the final 30 minutes for their highest scoring output of the season.
Kylee McCauley-Kriegsman surpassed the milestone of 100 career saves with seven over three quarters of work.
