READING, Pa. – Albright Softball (7-5) returned to the field to host Lancaster Bible (5-5) in the second of four straight matches at home. Following a dominant game one Lions win, the chargers would take game two to end the day with a split.
Game 1:
Alexis Laboy picked up right where she left off and threw a complete game shutout for the second time in as many starts allowing only five baserunners in seven innings. Laboy sits at 3-1 on the year and lowered her ERA to 1.01 across 34.2 innings.
After
Grace Landante doubled for the game's first run,
Slaydon Fisher mashed a solo homerun to left field to give the Lions a 2-0 lead after three innings.
The Lions combined for 10 hits and a pair of walks.
Juliette Licata tallied a pair of her own hits to join Landante and Fisher with multiple hits.
Madison Lasko would start a four run fifth inning with an RBI single to score
Adriana Buonacore before scoring larer on a
Gabriella Weiss sacrifice fly.
Laboy held down the fort for the final two innings to start the Lions' day with a 6-0 shutout victory.
Game 2:
The Chargers struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the second inning before tacking on a third run in the top of the fifth.
Lasko got the Lions on the board with her second RBI single of the double header to score
Mya Frana and cut into the Lancaster Bible lead.
Caitlin Mahady shutdown a charger offense that began to wake up with a pair of scoreless innings in relief which included two strikeouts.
An RBI single from Fisher scored Licata to bring the Lions within one and threatening in their final at bat. Ultimately, the chargers would hold on and salvage the day with a 3-2 victory in game two.

The Lions will play a conference opponent for the second time this season in the form of a pair of games against York on Saturday (3/21). Game one's first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
