READING, Pa. – Albright Baseball (7-4-1) began their second conference series of the year against York (7-7). Followung nine innings of play, the visiting Spartans would wind up taking game one of the series by a score of 12-3.
After a scoreless top of the first,
Tommy Lewman would blast a homer to center field that kept carrying and carrying to give the Lions a 2-0 lead to drive in
Nathan Golden for the first of his two runs on the day.
Following a four spot from the Spartans, Lewman would single in the following inning to score Golden once more to bring Albright within one by a score of 4-3.
Connor Maier and
Gannon Carvajal made their home debuts for the season and combined for a pair of scoreless innings and three strikeouts in relief.
Overall, the Lions consistently threatened throughout the game but were unable to capitalize against York's pitching resulting in the team's first home loss of the season.
