Josh Tudor Dominates Game 1: Baseball Splits Doubleheader

Albright traveled to York on Saturday to square off in a MAC Commonwealth Doubleheader

YORK, Pa - Baseball (8-5-1, 3-3 MAC Commonwealth) would head on the road and split the Saturday doubleheader against the York College Spartans (9-8, 4-2 MAC Commonwealth). Albright would take the first game on the day in a close 3-2 contest. York rebounded winning the second game 10-4.

Game 1:

The first two innings in the contest saw no scoring from both teams, Albright would break that in the top of the third. Christian Eckstein singled and then stole second. Eckstein would then be driven in by Michael Anvio to give the Lions a 1-0 lead.

Albright would boost the lead in the top of the fourth. Chris Gorla and Tyler Boccelli both found themselves on base and be driven in by John Pecoraro on a two RBI single. Three runs would be all Albright needed.

Josh Tudor would be excellent on the mound for the Lions pitching six innings of one run ball. Tudor picked up his third win of the season and continued his scintillating start to the year. Tudor holds a 2.01 ERA and has struck out 18 while having a perfect 3-0 record through 22 and a third innings pitched.

Wayne Hudson entered the game in the bottom of the seventh and slammed the door shut on York giving Albright a 3-2 victory. Hudson picked up his first collegiate save in the process.

Game 2:

Albright would get on the board in game two in the second inning through a Plyler Hunter sac fly. York responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the third to lead 3-1 heading into the fourth.

The Lions offense fought back in the fourth powered by a Tyler Boccelli two run home run. It was Boccelli's second blast of the year. John Pecoraro drove iin Chris Gorla on a sac fly and give Albright a 4-3 lead.

York would then go on to score seven unanswered runs and win by a final score of 10-4 to take the series against Albright.

Nathan Golden and Boccelli each had three hits in game two for the Lions. Gorla and Anthony Knight each collected two hits of their own.
