WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Men's and women's track and field returned to competition on Friday and Saturday afternoon competing in West Chester's Purple and Gold open.
Maizy Aikey recorded a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) qualifying standard to pace the Lions throughout the two days in the 5000m.
MEET RESULTS
Women's Results:
Aikey started the season with a new personal best time of 19:42.24 in the 5000m. The time was good for a fifth place finish out of 17 total runners in the race. The time was good for a MAC qualifying standard.
The quartet of
Ava Ramlochan,
Yonique Reynolds,
Julia Parmelee and
Standey Sauveur participated in the 4x100m. They finished with a time of 55.05.
Aikey and
Alyssa DeVita both ran in the 1500m. Aikey took 11
th with a time of 5:21.28 and was followed by DeVita who ran a personal best time of 5:42.65.
Aniya Davis notched a personal best time of 1:09.52 in the 400m.
Ramlochan tallied a personal best time of 30.28 in the 200m.
Rayne Edwards competed in the shotput and turned in a throw of 8.78m.
Men's Results:
Cameron Myers,
Tyhee Pridgen,
Jamari Leo and
Darnell Turner teamed up in the 4x100m. The relay team turned in a time of 45.74 to take fourth overall in the event.
In the 1500m,
Evan Eisenhardt and
Jordan Patton represented the Lions. Eisenhardt took 20
th with a time of 4:25.85 and Patton earned a time of 5:11.28. A total of 62 runners participated in the event.
Beyah Rembert, Jr. and
Willie Marshall-Travis took aim at the 400m. Rembert Jr. led with a time of 52.85 to take 14
th overall in the event. Marshall-Travis recorded a personal best time of 1:00.77.
Pridgen narrowly missed a MAC qualifying standard time in the 200m with a time of 23.10. The time was just .03 second behind what is needed to qualify for the MAC Championships later this season.
Reggie Hamlett competed in the discuss and earned a distance of 32.86m.
Turner was later in action in the high jump continuing where he left off during the winter season. Turner took sixth in the event clearing the bar at 1.70m.

Both teams will return to action this weekend at the Leopard Invitational hosted by Lafayette. The meet will start in the morning and last throughout the day.
