READING, Pa. – Women's tennis (6-3) earned a 7-0 shutout victory over DeSales (1-5) on Friday afternoon to earn their second straight win. Combining the fall and spring seasons, the Lions are 5-1 at home.
Albright is 5-1 at home this season with their only loss coming to a strong Washington College team. Across the five home wins Albright has outscored their opponents 40-2.
Against DeSales all the singles matches went to the Lions in straight sets. In doubles play, the Lions only lost two games out of a total of 12 played. The third doubles match went unfinished due to darkness.
Nadia Margaritov won at #1 singles 6-3, 6-2. Margaritov is 7-2 this season in her singles matches playing primarily as the teams #1.
Michelle Timothy continues to roll right along winning in #2 singles 6-4, 6-0. Timothy has won her last three matches and five of the last six overall.
Elicia Aponte won her second straight match at #3 singles 6-0, 6-1. Allison Horrick got back to her winning ways at #4 singles winning 6-2, 6-2.
Alaina Smith and
Daniela Diez both win at #5 singles and #6 singles, respectively. Smith and Diez each won by a scoreline of 6-1, 6-1.
Timothy and Aponte won 6-0 in #1 doubles and Smith and Horick won 6-2 in #2 doubles Timothy and Aponte are 5-1 as a pair this season while Smith and Horick picked up their second win as duo this season.
