READING, Pa. – Women's Lacrosse (3-2) played the first of five straight home games against Carroll (4-0). Following physical four quarters of play, the Pioneers would leave with a 13-8 win over the Lions.
After Carroll scored the first goal of the game,
Zoe Dicks answered back the following possession off an assist from
Olivia Ball. Dicks would add a pair of draw controls to her day while Ball finished with a team best four points which included three goals.
Joining Ball with multiple goals was
Riley Basht who put a pair in the back of the net, including one on a man up opportunity and an assist for three points.
Halftime saw the Lions trailing 7-3 looking to add a more aggressive style of offense to their game for the second half. The Lions would then outscore the Pioneers 2-1 in the third bringing them within striking distance by a score of 8-5 with another quarter to play.
Anna Bien and
Kaila Clark each caused multiple turnovers on defense while
Madison Wood grabbed three ground balls as part of another strong defensive effort from the Lions.
Kylee McCauley-Kriegsman registered a career high 16 saves and finished two saves shy of tying the program record for saves in a game (18).
Carroll would ultimately escape with a road victory to remain undefeated on the season.
