Shaw would hold down the fort the remainder of the game as the Lions 3-1 win broke a 11-game conference winning streak for the Falcons.

Game 2:

The Falcons pushed a run across in the top of the first inning before the Lions responded with four first inning runs of their own batting around the entire lineup. Gorla and Nathan Golden each drove in runs with a single and a walk with the bases loaded.

After the Falcons scored a pair in the third, Golden would come through once again by reaching on a fielder's choice as Gorla scored to give the Lions a 5-3 lead after three innings.

Ultimately, the high-powered Falcons' offense would wake up down the stretch allowing them to salvage the day with a 9-5 win in game two.
