Women’s Lacrosse Drops Tightly Contested Game to Hood

The Lions hosted the Hood College Blazers on Saturday afternoon, which turned out to be a fantastic women’s lacrosse game. Hood escaped with a 13-11 victory.

READING, Pa. – Women's lacrosse (7-6, 1-2 MAC Commonwealth) hosted the Hood Blazers (6-5, 2-1 MAC Commonwealth) on Saturday afternoon in a battle between to evenly matched Commonwealth teams. In the end, Hood was able to escape with a 13-11 victory.

At halftime, Albright was clinging to a 7-6 lead. Albright saw four different goal scorers in the first half with Riley Basht, Zoe Dicks and Paige Lipp each scoring twice.

Through 45 minutes of game time, Hood was able to tie the game up at 10-10, heading into the final 15 minutes.

Hood scored three times in the fourth quarter to one goal for the Lions to win their second conference game of the year.

Basht led the way with four goals and is closing on 100 career points. Basht needs three more points to enter the exclusive 100-point club.

Dicks finished with a team high six points on three goals and three assists while also having three ground balls and six draw controls. The senior is closing on setting the single season assist record needing four assists over the teams four remaining games to break the record.

Olivia Ball and Lipp rounded out the goal scorers each scoring twice. Ball added three ground balls and four draw controls to her overall stat line.

Madison Wood was credited with an assist, three draw controls and two ground balls in an all-around solid effort.
