Women’s Tennis Wins 7th Straight Match Downing Immaculata 7-0

Women’s tennis continues to roll along winning their 11th match of the season and their seventh in a row. The Lions topped the Mighty Macs 7-0 on their home courts.

READING, Pa. – Women's tennis (11-3) made it seven in a row on Tuesday afternoon beating the Immaculata Mighty Macs (6-8) 7-0 on their home courts. Today was the final regular season non-conference match for the Lions going 8-3 overall in such matches this season.

Albright won their 11th match of the season today giving them their third straight season of at least 11 wins. The Lions own a 30-7 record in non-conference matches over the last three seasons.

Nadia Margaritov, who is fresh off a MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week honor, kept things rolling on Tuesday, winning 6-1, 6-0. Margaritov has been named MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week twice this season and moved to 8-2 at #1 singles this season today.

Michelle Timothy won her 8th straight match winning 6-2, 7-5 at #2 singles. Timothy has been as advertised this season holding an 8-1 record in the spring season thus far.

Elicia Aponte won her 7th match in a row with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win today. Aponte is 8-2 this season at #3 singles which where she played today.

Allison Horick won her 5th straight match today with another 6-0, 6-4 straight sets win. During Horick's win streak, all five wins have come in straight sets.

Alaina Smith and Daniela Diez both won 6-0, 6-0 at #5 and #6 singles, respectively. For Smith it marked her 7th straight win while Diez remained perfect as a collegiate student-athlete improving her overall record to 9-0.

Doubles play was all Albright as the pairings combined to outscore Immaculata 18-3.

Timothy and Aponte won 6-1 at #1 doubles while Margaritov and Diez won by the same scoreline in #3 doubles. Horick and Smith made it three for three with a 6-2 win in #2 doubles.

Up Next:
Albright will host Eastern on Saturday, April 18. The match is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. with the Lions looking to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
