CHAMBERSBURG, Pa - Albright Baseball (14-20-1) took the road up to face Wilson College (5-23-1). Albright would come away the resounding winners scoring 16 en route to a 16-2 victory over the Phoenix.
The Lions would come out of the gates hot, and plate five in the first inning. The scoring got started through an Anthony Knight sac fly. Jake Andrews walked on a wild pitch allowing Michael Avino to score. Andrews came all the way around himself to score on an Owen Morais single.
Christian Eckstein tripled to right in the third allowing
Plyler Hunter to score his second run of the day. The triple is the second of the season for Eckstein.
Albright's offense would come back for another five run inning in the fourth. Knight would get the scoring started with a double in the gap. Eckstein collected two more RBIs on a single up the middle and leave him with three on the day. An error from Wilson allowed for two more runs to score and for the Albright lead to sit at 12-1 in the middle of the fourth.
The Lions scored four more runs in the sixth to finish off the scoring on the day. Avino doubled down the left field line to score Eckstein.
Tyler Boccelli tallied a sac fly and Knight would hit another double for the Lions.
Seth Strecker would walk on a wild pitch and allow for
Sean Hoffman to score the Lions 16th and final run on the day.
Conner Lane started on the mound for the Lions and pitched five strong innings. Lane only allowed two runs, only one of which being earned, while striking out three.
Connor Maier and
Gannon Carvajal both pitched scoreless innings out of the bullpen for Albright to close out the game.
