Softball Falls in Doubleheader against Dickinson

The Lions played one of their final home series of the regular season.

READING, Pa. – Albright Softball (13-23) returned home to host the Red Devils of Dickinson (13-19) as the Lions approach the end of the regular season. Dickinson would go on to leave with a pair of road wins by scores of 8-3 and 3-2.

Game 1:

Both teams were deadlocked until the fourth inning where the Red Devils accounted for the day's first two runs. The Lions would respond in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game.

Katie Behler drove in the first run for the Lions with a double to center field to bring home Juliette Licata

Also contributing with a crucial double of her own was Madison Lasko who sent a ball to deep left field allowing Grace Landante to come around and tie the game by a score of 2-2. Lasko finished game one with a team best three hits and two RBIs

Neither team would score in the seventh inning leading to extra innings where the Dickinson bats broke through once more for a win in game one despite the Lions threatening in the bottom of the eighth.

Game 2:

The Lions struck first in the bottom of the third with Behler bringing home Licata with an RBI single before advancing to second on the throw.

After Dickinson responded with three in the top of the fifth, Adriana Buonacore responded with an RBI hit to left field scoring Sadie Gonzales to bring the Lions back to within one.

Kaitlin Mulry sparked the offense with a pair of hits and joined Licata who had two hits of her own.

Ultimately, the Lions would fall short in game two after once again threatening in their final at bat.
