Softball Drops Road Doubleheader to Franklin & Marshall

The Lions went on the road for their seventh and eighth games in a row playing against the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall.

LANCASTER, Pa. – Softball (8-14) traveled to the next county over to square off against Franklin & Marshall (8-10) on Thursday afternoon on a damp and dreary day in Lancaster County. The Diplomats protected home field and took both games of today's double header.
 
Game 1: L, 10-2

The Diplomats struck first in game one, scoring six runs in the first inning. In the end Franklin & Marshall used their big first inning to their advantage to take game one.

In the fourth inning, Katie Behler belted her first career home run scoring Adriana Buonacore who reached on a walk. Behler sent the ball to left center field clearing the tall fence at Baker Campus softball field.

Behler is hitting .333 this season which currently ranks fourth on the team.

Madison Lasko rounded out the hits for the Lions giving her at least one hit in each of her last four games played.

Juliette Licata and Alexis Laboy were each credited with a walk.
 
Game 2: L, 12-3

The Lions struck first in game two, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. Franklin and Marshall would erase the early deficit, scoring three runs of their own in the bottom of the frame.

The Diplomats would improve on their lead as the game went on resulting in their eighth win of the season.

In the first inning the Lions got a Slaydon Fisher RBI double that scored Behler who reached on a walk.

Lasko was the very next batter and singled home Fisher for her 10th RBI of the season. Lasko is currently on a five-game hit streak and has improved her batting average from .280 to .317.

Back-to-back doubles in the fourth inning saw Albright score their third run of the game. Licata doubled to left center and was brought home by a Mya Frana double.

Albright will return home for the first time in two weeks to host Widener on Saturday, April 4. Game times are set for 1 and 3 p.m.
