Renato Orsi Named Player of the Year; Brown Coach of the Year for Men’s Tennis

On the heels of their first conference championship this century, the Lions placed five on the All-MAC men’s tennis conference list. Renato Orsi was named overall Player of the Year and Miranda Brown was named Coach of the Year.

NEWTOWN, Pa. – Men's tennis won the 2026 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth men's tennis championship on Saturday afternoon beating Messiah 4-1. Today, the team was rewarded for their strong play throughout the entire season seeing Renato Orsi be named Player of the Year and Miranda Brown being named Coach of the year. Five total Lions earned a spot on the All-MAC teams.

Coach Brown claimed her second Coach of the Year honor during her Albright tenure. Brown was also named Coach of the Year in 2024 for the women's tennis team. This season Brown led both of her programs to conference championships while also capturing her 100th career victory combining the men's and women's tennis teams.

Brown and the men's tennis team made history of Saturday winning the program's first conference title since 1998. Additionally, this week's NCAA Championship first round match will be the first time in program history that men's tennis has competed in the NCAA Championships.

Orsi joined the Lions at the start of the spring season and proceeded to have a fantastic first-year campaign. Orsi finished his first year with an overall record of 12-3 and a 4-1 mark within the conference.

The first-year Lion became the first Albright men's tennis player to be named Player of the Year since 2016 when Matthew Muoio achieved the same feat. Orsi also landed a spot on the First-Team.

Joining Orsi on the All-MAC First Team was Karim Fattal. Fattal is also in his first year with the Lions going 8-5 this season. Fattal was perfect in conference play going 4-0 in the regular season within the Commonwealth. He also won his semifinal conference match and was well on his way to winning his championship match before Albright earned the four team points needed for the team title.

Marcelo Menchaca, Enrico Pucci and Dylan Huha were all named to the All-MAC Second Team.

Menchaca was flawless this season, ending his year with a perfect 13-0 record in singles play. Of the 13 wins 11 of them came in straight sets.

Pucci played the most matches of anyone on the team this season sporting a 12-3 overall record at season's end. Pucci is currently on an eight-match win streak which includes a 6-3, 6-0 result in the MAC Championship match.

Huha went 9-2 this season with eight of the nine wins coming in straight sets. Huha was dominant in the MAC Championship match winning 6-4, 6-0. Huha's match was the Commonwealth title clincher and was named MAC Commonwealth Tournament MVP for his efforts.

Albright will face North Carolina Wesleyan in the first round of the NCAA Championships. North Carolina Wesleyan is the host site for the first round.
