READING, Pa. – Men's Soccer (1-2-1) returned home to face the Phoenix of Wilson (0-1-2) to cap off a soccer double-header at home. After a scoreless first half, the Lions found the back of the net twice for a 2-0 win.
As a team the Lions outshot the Phoenix 24-12 and found themselves in control for the vast majority of the game.
Kaleb Simpson broke through for the team's first goal in the early seconds of the 58
th minute for his first score of the season. Simpson finished with three shots and was one of five Lions with multiple shot attempts.
Ethan Roe created scoring opportunities throughout the entire game which included a team high nine shots while setting up his teammates for additional scoring chances.
Three shots for the Lions came off the bench including a pair from
Gideon Fasanya who put up a pair looking to help spark the offense.
Albright's second goal came in the 88
th minute from
Brady Devito off a stellar pass from
Gael Velazquez to add insurance for the Lions in the game's final moments.
A stifling defensive effort headlined by several outstanding saves from
Mike Lawry was the final piece of the puzzle for Albright to hand Wilson their first loss of the season.
