LANCASTER, Pa. – Men's Soccer (3-2-1) hosted Berkeley (1-2) at Shirk Stadium following a road victory over Lancaster Bible. Following a 90-minute contest that lacked no physical presence, the Lions took care of business on their home turf in the form of a 2-0 win.
Despite the 0-0 score, Berkeley seemed to have majority of the momentum heading into the locker room after out-shooting the Lions, 8-2. What then followed was a dominant second half in which the Lions put up eight more shots of their own and scored both goals.
Brady Devito scored first for the Lions in the 71
st minute off a header via a fantastic pass from
Gael Velazquez. The goal was Devito's fourth of the season.
Just seven minutes later,
Zach Fratrik would draw a penalty which he would wind up converting for his first career collegiate goal.
Rofny Lopez Estrada contributed much needed energy off the bench with a pair of shots and a number of clutch defensive breakups.
Also contributing on offense were
Will Garnett,
John Stum, and
Alexis Zurita-Jimenez who each fired off additional shots of their own throughout the conference.
Mike Lawry added four more saves to his season and continues to be a force in net allowing only five goals in six total games this season.
