Lions Swimmers Down Arcadia

GLENSIDE, Pa. - In another crucial conference meet, Albright picked up back-to-back wins Saturday afternoon defeating Arcadia University by the final scores of 138-42 on the men's side and 116-78 on the women's side.

Overall both teams proved dominant in the water as they took first place in every single event except one. For the men's team they 200 Medley Relay team opened up the afternoon with a 1:46.10 victory, and a closed 1:47.27 second place finish.

Sean Zajdel and Connor Unger finished in first and second place with times of 11:37.13 and 12:13.31 respectively in the 1,000 free. Matt Bauer dominated the 200 free with a time of 1:58.87. Eric Kramer continued the winning trend taking the 50 free with a time of 22.22. Kramer was also apart of the 200 free relay team that ended the afternoon with a final time of 1:36.75.

Matt O'Neill claimed a first place win in the 200 IM (2:13.34), followed by Jack Kubacki in the 100 fly (56.06), Ryan Habel in the 100 free (51.51), Sean Spellacy in the 100 back (1:00.96), and Adam Kurtz in the 500 free (5:07.81).

Diving into the women's side of Saturday's meet the 200 medley relay team got their afternoon off to a great start as well taking first in the event with a time of 1:59.99.

From there Rebecca Woskoff closed out the 1,000 free with a time of 12:30.84. Katy Oeste's first place finish in the 50 free (26.05) sparked an Albright hot streak, as the Lions swept the remaining events in order. Allie Fies swam away with the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.54. Kelly Williams earned another victory in the 100 fly (1:06.48), and Aimee Snyder made quick work in the 100 free (58.03).

Fies returned later in the afternoon to earn her second victory in the 100 back with a time of 1:08.85. Madison Hauk continued her winning ways with a win in the 500 free (5:36.99).

Swimming returns to the water next Saturday when they travel to Messiah College for a 1 p.m. conference meet.
