IMMACULATA, Pa. - Led by newcomer #Danielle Ozment#, the Lady Lions earned their second straight win of the new season by defeating Immaculata University by the score of 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Alumnae Hall.
Ozment who had a stellar Albright debut against Penn State Berks, led the red and white's offense again with a game high 11 points. On 17 attempts, Ozment scored 10 kills and also tallied seven digs and one solo block.
Setter #Lauren Higgins# also had a solid afternoon totaling 25 assists in the 3-0 victory. Freshman #Alexa Jones# totaled eight points in the win, while #Cassie Campbell# and #Christina Yatron# each scored seven points.
Defensively #Erin Wentzel# along with #Kelly Nicodemus# led the red and white with 12 digs each. Nicodemus also totaled four service aces in the three games match as well.
Albright took control of Saturday's match early downing the Mighty Macs 25-12 in game one. In game two the Lady Lions managed to sneak by with a 26-24 win. The third and final set proved to be just like the first as Ozment and the rest of the Lady Lions dominated the court. They went onto secure the win with a 25-17 game three decision.
Volleyball returns to action on Wednesday, when they make their 2009 home debut against Susquehanna University at 7 p.m. in the Bollman Center. The first 20 students that arrive to the game with their college ID will receive a FREE Albright Volleyball t-shirt.
