Field Hockey Closes Out Season at King's

Box Score

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – In their final match of the 2010 season, the Lady Lions (9-10) dropped an 8-2 decision to King's College (14-3). Senior Gia Boscola ended her career with the red and white with both of Albright's goals Thursday night at McCarthy Stadium.

Looking for the program's first 10 win season, Thursday's match got off to a rough start for the Lions. In the first 15 minutes, King's was quickly 2-0. However, Boscola made it a one goal game in 20th minute when she scored on a penalty corner.

From there King's added one more goal before the half. After the intermission, King's quickly extended their lead to 4-1. In the 44th minute Boscola netted her second and lost goal of the regular season, when she redirected a pass from Kayla Marshall.

Trailing by two, the red and white tried to battle back, but it was Monarchs offense that took over as they scored four straight goals to secure the 8-2 win.

Freshman netminder Marguerite DeLucas totaled seven saves in the match to end the year with a 9-10. The Monarchs held a 24-11 shot advantage, but it was Albright who led in penalty corners with 15 as compared to Monarchs seven.

Albright will lose Boscola, Caitiln Feldman, Pam Swope, and Briana Taylor to graduation.
