SWARTHMORE, Pa. – After dropping a tough 3-0 decision to Swarthmore College, the Lady Lions (1-5) bounced right back to pick up their first win of the season defeating Wesley College in three straight games to end day one at the Swarthmore College Garnet Classic with a 1-1 record.

Leading the Lions to the second match victory over Wesley was senior #Danielle Ozment# who scored 13 kills, followed by #Alyssa Hoogendoorn# who had 10 kills, and #Morgan Heath# who scored five kills of her own.

Albright defeated the Cougars by the scores of 25-19, 25-20, and 25-15. On top of her five kills in match two, Heath also led the red and white in aces with four, and finished second on the team in digs in 10. #Casey McFadden# tallied a team high 19 digs in the win, while setter #Lauren Higgins# continued her strong play with 23 assists.

Defensively Hoogendoorn was strong as ever totaling four blocks in the match, three of which were solo stops.

In the first match of the tournament, the Lady Lions did everything in their power to take down the host Garnet's but were unsuccessful. Swarthmore defeated Albright in three straight games by the final scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-17. Ozment once again led her team in the kills' category throwing down seven in the match. She also managed a team best nine digs

Higgins led off the day with a total of 14 assists and matched Ozment's nine digs.

Volleyball returns to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. when they take on Marymount University. Following that match the red and white will take on Cabrini College at 12 p.m. to close out the two-day tournament.
